June 24, 2016 (Seoul) ? American Chamber of Commerce in Korea (AMCHAM Korea) hosted the “12th AMCHAM CEO Servers’ Night” at The Park Ballroom of Conrad Seoul on June 24, 2016. The Partners for the Future Foundation (PFF), the charitable arm of AMCHAM Korea, has been hosting this meaningful event since 2003 to raise scholarship funds for Korean university students from unemployed families.

For this special event, CEOs of Korean and multinational companies exchanged their business suits for white aprons to serve food and wine to their families, employees, business partners, and friends. The CEOs were trained on basic dinner service by the hotel staff from Conrad Seoul. Guests enjoyed the rare opportunity to see their CEOs outside of the office, sometimes fumbling in their effort to serve perfectly. 

To make this night even more special, Chevron Korea made a generous donation of KRW 5 million. Other partners donated various gifts and funds to contribute to the cause.

In his opening remarks, Jeffrey Jones, Chairman of Partners for the Future Foundation, said “Tonight is about having fun. I am very glad to be able to continue this meaningful event for the 12th year now. Hope AMCHAM and you can continue to work together to give back to the Korean society.”

Around 140 guests participated and enjoyed the dinner served by the CEOs. After the main event, AMCHAM presented unique awards to the CEO servers. Joseph Song, CEO & Chairman of Asian Tigers Mobility and Eun-Mi Chae, Representative Director of FedEx Express, Korea, won the “CEO with Most Guests Award” and James Kim, President, CEO, and Chairman of GM Korea, won the “Best Wine Seller Award.” Other participating CEOs were recognized by various awards including “Most Energetic CEO Award,” “Comeback Award,” and “Best Server Award.”

All proceeds from the event (KRW 35 million) will be donated to the Partners for the Future Foundation and these funds will go towards providing scholarships to university students in financial difficulty.

About Partners for the Future Foundation

The Partners for the Future Foundation is a non-profit organization, established in February 2000 as a charitable arm of AMCHAM Korea. The organization has been offering aid to unemployed families through programs such as scholarships, job training, and trainee programs. The Foundation also offers various CSR programs partnering with corporates. In particular, the Foundation’s scholarship program has provided tuition for about 2,500 university students from unemployed families since the year 2000 and is making an effort to attract more individual and business sponsors. The Partners for the Future Foundation is promoting various everyday methods of participating in charity while using “Fun Fundraising” as its motto, hoping to aid in establishing a giving culture in the Korean society.

암참, ‘암참 최고경영자 서버스 나이트 행사?

2016년 6월 27일 ? 주한미국상공회의소(AMCHAM, 이하 ‘암참’)는 6월 24일 콘래드 서울 파크 볼룸에서 ‘제12회 암참 최고경영자 서버스 나이트’ 행사를 개최했다. 암참 산하 자선단체 미래의동반자재단은 2003년부터 이 독특한 행사를 통해 경제적 어려움을 겪고 있는 국내 실업가정의 대학생들을 위한 장학금을 조성해왔다.

이번 행사에는 다국적 기업의 최고경영자들이 비즈니스 정장 대신 앞치마를 두르고 임직원, 가족, 협력업체 및 친구 등 지인들을 초대하여 저녁 식사와 와인을 서빙했다. 최고경영자들은 행사를 위해 콘래드 서울 직원들에게 기본적인 서빙 매너를 교육받았다. 초대 된 손님들은 평소에 보지 못했던 최고경영자들의 모습을 보며 함께 즐거운 시간을 보냈다.

쉐브론 코리아는 특히 이 행사를 위해 5백만원의 금액을 후원 하는 등 여러 기업체들이 이 의미있는 행사를 위해 다양한 후원금과 물품을 기부하여 뜻을 함께했다.

이날 제프리 존스 미래의동반자재단 이사장은 12회 째 이 행사를 이끌어 오며 “오늘의 뜻깊은 행사를 이어갈 수 있어서 기쁘다. 오신 손님들이 즐거운 시간을 갖는 그 자체에 의미가 있다”라고 소감을 말하며 행사를 열었다. 또한, “암참과 오늘 오신 분들이 함께 한국 사회에 기부 문화를 이끌어 가는 기회가 되길 바란다”고 당부했다.

이번 암참 최고경영자 서버스 나이트 행사에는 140여 명의 손님들과 CEO들이 참여하여 저녁 만찬을 즐겼다. 본 행사 후에는 CEO들에게 각종 이색적인 상을 주는 이벤트가 마련되었다. ‘최다 손님 호스트’ 상은 송정섭 아시안타이거즈 모빌리티 회장과 채은미 페덱스 코리아 대표이사가, ‘베스트 와인 셀러’ 상은 제임스 김 한국지엠 대표이사 사장 및 이사회의장이 수상하였으며, 이 외 ‘가장 에너지 넘치는 웨이터’ 상, ‘컴백’ 상, ‘베스트 웨이터’ 상 등 다양하고 재미있는 상들을 수상하였다.

이번 행사를 통해 모여진 3천 5백여만원의 수익금은 경제적으로 어려움을 겪는 대학생들을 위한 장학금으로 쓰여질 예정이다.

암참 미래의동반자재단
