(한글은 아래 참조)Seoul, July 11, 2014 - The American Chamber of Commerce in Korea (AMCHAM Korea) hosted the fifth “AMCHAM Healthcare Innovation Seminar 2014” on Friday, July 11th at the JW Marriott Dongdaemun Square Seoul. At this event, representatives from foreign pharmaceutical companies and officials from various institutions including Ministry of Health and Welfare, CBfez, Celgene, KRPIA, Pfizer, Baxter, Boston Scientific, Cook Medical, GlaxoSmithKline, Johnson & Johnson Medical, Lilly Medtronic, MSD, and Novartis, came together to discuss opportunities of health technology. Among the main participants of this event were H.E. Chun-Jin Kim, Member of the National Assembly, Republic of Korea, the Hon. Sung Kim, the U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of Korea, and Amy Jackson, President of AMCHAM Korea. In addition, H.E. Hyung-Pyo Moon, Minister of Health and Welfare and Keon W. Kang, Professor at Seoul National University College of Medicine talked upon “Prospects and Opportunities of Health Technology to 2030.” Throughout his speech, Professor Kang touched upon six Global Megatrends: Ageing, Cyber-world, Globalization, Polarization, Global warming and Resource depletion, and also highlighted Science & Technology vision for the future. The main discussions in the afternoon were divided into two sessions A and B. In session A, Kee-taig Jung, President of Korea Health Industry Development Institute, moderated the dialogue on strategies to establish healthcare as a rising growth engine in Asia. Lee Suk Kyu, Director of Division of Welfare Review & Benefits Rights at Ministry of Health and Welfare, began a heated panel discussion on the Korean government’s policy direction for promotion of Korea’s health industry. In contrast, Hidehito Sekino, Director of Health Policy Bureau at the Japanese Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, gave an overview on the Japanese Pharmaceutical Industry and mentioned Japan’s Revitalization Strategy to extend the nation’s “healthy life expectancy.” Huang San-Kuei, Director General of National Health Insurance Administration in Taiwan, navigated the current status of Healthcare Insurance System in Taiwan, and predicted the new era of Healthcare Innovation.In Session B, Sung Min Kim, Professor at the Department of Medical Biotechnology at Dongguk University, initiated multiple dialogues on the growth opportunities through open innovation and global collaboration between local and global medical device manufacturers. Five presenters, each representing government institutions and foreign pharmaceutical companies, followed up on Professor Kim’s keynote speech. Young Huh, Medical Devices Program Director of Korea Evaluation Institute of Industrial Technology presented the status of Medical Fusion Technology and Research & Development Strategy. AMCHAM is the largest foreign chamber in Korea with approximately 900 member companies with diverse interests and substantial participation in the Korean economy.###For more information, please contact:Roxie HwangAMCHAM Korea(822) 6201-2238------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------?암참 보건의료혁신세미나 2014?2014년 7월 11일 (서울) - 주한미국상공회의소(이하 “암참”)는 7월 11일 JW 메리어트 동대문 스퀘어 서울에서 “2014 주한미국상공회의소 보건의료혁신세미나”를 개최했다. 올해로 5회를 맞는 암참 보건의료혁신세미나는 “미래 성장동력 산업으로서의 보건의료” 라는 주제 아래 헬스테크놀로지(HT)의 전망과 기회, 국내 투자기회 등에 관해 다각도로 논의했다(세미나 프로그램 첨부).이번 세미나에는 보건복지부, 충북국제자유구역청, 셀진, 한국다국적의약산업협회, 한국화이자제약, 박스터, 보스톤사이언티픽코리아, 쿡메디칼 코리아, 글락소스미스클라인, 한국존슨앤드존슨메디칼, 한국릴리, 메드트로닉코리아, 한국MSD, 한국 노바티스 등 굴지의 제약 및 의료기기 업체와 보건복지부를 비롯한 보건당국 관계자들이 한자리에 모였다. 특히 한국, 일본, 대만의 주요 보건당국 관계자들이 연사로 나서 각국의 보건산업 정책에 대한 의견을 나누고, 신성장동력으로서의 보건의료 산업에 대한 활발한 논의가 이뤄졌다.오전세션은 에이미 잭슨 암참 대표의 개회사를 시작으로 김춘진 국회 보건복지위원장의 축사와 성 김 주한미국대사의 환영사 및 문형표 보건복지부장관의 기조연설이 있었으며, 이어서 보건의료산업의 국내외 전문가들의 발표가 이어졌다. 강건욱 서울대학교 의과대학 교수는 이어진 세션에서 “헬스테크놀로지(HT)의 전망과 기회”를 주제로 발표를 했으며, “바이오기술로 젊어진 2040년을 향한 미래사회 모습”을 제시했다. 강건욱 교수는 6가지 글로벌 메가트렌드인 고령화, 사이버세계, 세계화, 양극화, 지구 온난화, 자원고갈에 대해 설명했다.오후세션에서 이어진 분임토의에서는 두 세션으로 나뉘어 동시에 시작됐는데 세션 A는 의료산업에 대해, 세션 B는 실제 산업계획에 대해 다뤘다. 일단 세션 A에서는 아시아 주요국인 한국, 일본, 대만의 연사들이 참석해서 “아시아 신(新)성장동력으로서의 보건의료산업”을 주제로 각국의 보건산업 정책을 공유했고, 좌장을 맡은 정기택 보건산업진흥원장의 진행 하에, 패널로 참석한 이석규 보건복지부 보건산업진흥과 과장이 “한국 보건 의료 사업의 진흥을 위한 한국 정부의 정책 방향”에 대해 발표했다. 이어서 히데토 세키노 후생노동성 정책국장은 “일본 제약 산업을 활성화시킬 수 있는 로드맵”이라는 주제로 일본 제약 산업에 대한 전반적 설명과 함께 일본의 “건강한 기대 수명”을 늘리기 위한 활성화 전략에 대해 발표했다. 마지막으로 대만의 후앙 산쿠웨이 중앙건강보험서장이 현재 대만의 보건복지 보험 시스템과 함께 “대만의 새로운 보건복지 혁신 시대”에 대해 발표하면서 세션A를 마무리했다.세션 B에서는 “오픈 이노베이션 및 국내-글로벌 기업 간 협력을 통한 성장”이라는 주제 하에 발표 및 패널토론이 진행됐다. 이번 세션에서는 김성민 동국대학교 교수가 좌장 및 기조연설을 맡아 토의를 이끌었고, 의료기기 산업의 경쟁력 향상 방안을 제시했다. 이어 허영 한국산업기술평가관리원 의료기기PD는 퓨전 테크놀로지를 활용한 의료기기 산업에 대해 설명했고 R&D 전략에 대해 발표했다. 이번 암참 보건의료혁신세미나에서는 국내외 의료기기?제약 기업, 관련 부처 및 유관기관과의 협력사업을 모색하고 발전방안을 찾을 수 있었다. 또한 정부정책 발표 및 관련 기업과의 공감대를 조성하고, 주제별 발표?토론을 통한 보건의료분야 성공사례를 벤치마킹할 수 있었다.주한미국상공회의소는 한미 양국의 투자와 무역 증진을 목적으로 1953년에 처음 설립된 한국 내 최대 외국 경제단체로, 한국 경제 각계에서 활발하게 활동하고 있는 900여 개의 기업으로 구성되어 있습니다.### 보도 자료 문의사항:황예진 과장주한미국상공회의소(AMCHAM / 암참)(822) 6201-2238
