SKT launches PC version of AI service offering access to multiple LLMs
By Nam Hyun-woo, The Korea Times - SK Telecom on
Tuesday revealed a PC version of the company’s artificial intelligence (AI)
service, A. (A dot), providing access to multiple large language models (LLMs)
including GPT-4o for free.
According to the telecom company, A dot launched its
PC version service on the website adot.ai. SK Telecom has been operating A dot
on mobile platforms, with the site rollout marking A dot’s first web-based
service, allowing access from PCs and tablets through various web browsers.
With the service, users can access a total of eight
LLMs at zero cost, including three versions of ChatGPT, three versions of
Anthropic's Claude, Perplexity and SK Telecom's own model, A.X. During the beta
service period, users will be able to use paid subscription-based models like
GPT-4o and Claude Opus free of charge. LLMs are AI systems that use advanced
statistics and data to generate responses.
When accessed, users will receive 5,000 points every
day, and each time they ask a question, points will be deducted depending on
the chosen LLM. An SK Telecom official said the goal during the beta service
period is to collect data on users’ patterns, such as the number of questions
asked.
Unlike the mobile version, the PC version allows users
to compare different LLMs without the process of copying and pasting, and
offers seamless cross-model switching to reflect the context of dialogues with
the previous model when continuing conversations with a different model.
SK Telecom said it is currently considering adding
additional LLMs such as Google Gemini, GPT o1-preview and GPTo1-mini to the
service. The duration of the beta service has not yet been specified, but the
company said it is yet to offer paid subscription plans for this service.
“With the launch of the PC version, anyone can now access various LLMs easily and conveniently,” said Jang Seong-woon, a manager at the AI Service division of SK Telecom. “We will continue providing a cutting-edge global AI experience through A dot in the future.”
