Hyundai Motor, IKEA join hands to promote sustainable outdoor activities
By Kim Jae-heun, The Korea Times - Hyundai Motor joined hands with IKEA Korea to hold a sustainable outdoor campaign called Green For-rest at IKEA's garden in Gwangmyeong, Gyeonggi Province, from June 5 to 11, the company official said Monday.
The event is
designed to encourage sustainable outdoor activities to visitors by promoting
Hyundai Motor's eco-friendly vehicles such as its all-new Kona, IONIQ 6 and
Nexo with IKEA's various household products.
"We have prepared this collaboration event to give customers the pleasure of sustainable outdoor activities created with our electric vehicles and IKEA's products. We will continue to introduce sustainability-based collaborative content (in the near future)," a Hyundai Motor official said.
The carmaker and the
furniture firm organized the exhibition space with three concepts in mind: the
Kona EV Zone, the IONIQ 6 Zone and the Nexo Zone, all named after the company's
eco-friendly cars.
The Kona EV Zone
presents a sustainable lifestyle with the example of beach picnics by
showcasing the Kona EV, which boasts a fuel-efficient system, along with IKEA's
popular foldable chairs.
The IONIQ 6 Zone
focused on the concept of personal space where people can work and rest at the
same time with IKEA's outdoor products and the IONIQ 6, which adopts a two-way
charging system that can fuel the car both in and outdoors.
In the Nexo Zone, a
green garden space is provided to emphasize Nexo's eco-friendly technology,
which filters out ultrafine dust from emissions. IKEA displayed its
gardening-related products there too.
The two companies
are also holding a promotional event to target visitors to Green For-rest.
Those who take
photos in the exhibition space and share them on social media will receive
giveaways, such as coupons to exchange the air conditioner filters for their
Hyundai Motor EVs and gift cards for IKEA products.
