Yulchon
Wins Innovative Lawyers in Infrastructure Award – FT Innovative Lawyers Awards
Asia-Pacific 2026

Press Release - Yulchon LLC was recognized across four
categories at the Financial Times Innovative Lawyers Asia-Pacific 2026 Awards
held in Hong Kong on May 14, underscoring the firm’s growing reputation for
cross-border expertise and innovation-driven legal services.
Unlike traditional legal awards that
primarily evaluate deal volume or individual lawyer performance, the FT
Innovative Lawyers Awards assess innovation across the legal services industry,
including technology adoption, service development, organizational
transformation, and new approaches to client solutions. The awards are
presented annually to law firms and in-house legal teams across the
Asia-Pacific region, based on independent research, client and peer interviews,
and evaluation of submitted innovations.
The firm has been consistently
recognized at the FT Innovative Lawyers Awards over the years as both award
recipient and finalist. This year, Yulchon was the only Korean law firm to be
recognized across the categories.
Among this year’s achievements, Yulchon
was named as a winner in the Infrastructure category for its role advising on
the El Dabaa nuclear power plant project in Egypt. Considered one of the most
significant energy and infrastructure developments currently underway, the
project involved a complex combination of legal, commercial, technical, and
project execution considerations.
Yulchon provided comprehensive counsel
on contractual structures, risk allocation, stakeholder and regulatory matters,
and overall project execution strategy. The Financial Times particularly
recognized the originality, leadership, and impact of the firm’s advisory work,
highlighting its role in preventing potential disputes through effective risk
management and coordination strategies.
Yulchon was also commended in three
additional categories spanning knowledge and data, dealmaking, and digital
legal services.
“We are honored to see Yulchon’s
capabilities across complex cross-border projects and legal innovation
recognized internationally,” said Seok Hook KANG, Managing Partner of Yulchon.
“This recognition reflects our role as a trusted advisor for clients navigating
large-scale overseas infrastructure projects, helping them balance commercial
objectives with multifaceted legal considerations. As global regulatory
environments continue to evolve, Yulchon remains focused on combining legal
expertise with technology to deliver forward-looking solutions for our clients’
most complex matters.”
