Renault begins mass production of new flagship Filante SUV
in S. Korea

Motors Co. has begun producing the Filante, the company's latest flagship sport
utility vehicle (SUV), in South Korea ahead of its planned launch in March, the
automaker said Thursday.
The South Korean unit of Renault S.A. said it held a
ceremony to mark the rollout of the Filante's first unit at the automaker's
plant in Busan, some 410 kilometers southeast of Seoul, on Wednesday.
Designed and developed in South Korea, the model is the
result of close collaboration between Renault's design centers in South Korea
and France. It features a bold crossover design that blends the strengths of
both sedans and SUVs, according to the company.
Coming in four trims, the Filante is equipped with an
upgraded version of a dual-motor hybrid system previously utilized in Renault
Korea's Grand Koleos SUV.
Preorders for the Filante are currently being received at
Renault Korea dealerships nationwide. The model will later be released in
overseas markets, including South America and the Middle East.
