GM Korea opens new service center in Seoul
By Kim
Dong-eun and Han Yubin, Pulse by Maeil Business - GM Korea Co. opened a new
service center in Yeongdungpo District, western Seoul, on Tuesday, which will
handle regular maintenance and repairs for vehicles.
GM Korea
unveiled the newly-built service center for the first time on Tuesday. The
center, which completed construction in July last year, is an eight-story
building with three basement levels.
Five of
these floors are fully dedicated to servicing Chevrolet, Cadillac, and GMC
vehicles.
With a total
of about 8,000 pyeong (26,400 square meters), it ranks as one of the largest
automobile service centers in Korea, capable of diagnosing and repairing up to
100 vehicles simultaneously.
Willian
Henrie, executive director of GM Korea, noted that proper warranty service is
like selling a car to a customer in the future.
He added
that GM is operating a directly managed service center exclusively in Korea,
striving to offer the best experience to Korean customers.
GM Korea is
also establishing similar directly managed service centers in Seongsu-dong,
eastern Seoul, and Wonju, Gangwon Province.
The
aggressive move by GM Korea comes as it is putting out efforts to strengthen
sales and dispel rumors of the company’s potential withdrawal from Korea.
