AMCHAM
Korea appoints cybersecurity expert as new senior advisor
By Park Soo-bin, The Korea Herald - The American Chamber of Commerce in Korea announced Thursday that it has appointed Simon Green, a renowned cybersecurity expert, as the new senior advisor to the Board of Governors.
This decision
highlights AmCham's strong commitment to cybersecurity leadership at a time
when digital security has become increasingly critical in the business
landscape.
Green brings nearly 30
years of expertise in technology and cybersecurity. He currently serves as
president of Asia Pacific and Japan at Palo Alto Networks and is a member of
advisory boards for leading organizations such as Bausele and Kohlberg Kravis Roberts
& Co.
“We are pleased to
welcome Simon Green as our special advisor to our Board," said AmCham
Chairman and CEO James Kim. "His appointment underscores our dedication to
equipping businesses with the essential skills and strategies for achieving
digital resilience in today's complex business environment."
Green, in turn,
expressed his honor at joining AmCham, saying, "I am excited to contribute
to raising cybersecurity awareness and resilience within the Korean business
environment. I look forward to leveraging my experience to advance related
education and influence organizations across various industries."
To further exert its
cybersecurity efforts, AmCham has recently established a cybersecurity
committee to foster cooperation among industry leaders. This committee will
serve as a platform for exchanging insights and best practices on risk
management and digital security strategies.
