U.S. business chamber highlights S. Korea's resilience in meeting with Assembly speaker
By
Chang Dong-woo, Yonhap News Agency - The head of the American business chamber
in South Korea on Friday highlighted the country's resilience in dealing with
ongoing political chaos triggered by a botched martial law order last month.
In
his meeting with National Assembly Speaker Woo Won-shik, James Kim, chairman of
the American Chamber of Commerce in Korea (AMCHAM), said the chamber has
"engaged with our ecosystem and foreign media to highlight the long-term
stability and strength of the Korean economy."
Kim
added, "We believe in Korea's resilience."
He
said the AMCHAM plans to send a delegation to Washington in the coming weeks to
emphasize the importance of further deepening bilateral industrial
collaboration in key sectors.
"We
will highlight the economic contributions of record-breaking Korean investments
in the U.S. and how bilateral trade dynamics reflect this partnership,"
Kim said.
The
chairman also stressed the need for the South Korean government to showcase its
commitment to deregulation and economic stimulus measures to address concerns
over potential U.S. tariff increases under the second Donald Trump
administration.
