    EVENT DESCRIPTION
South Korea has raised the stakes on data privacy compliance — the newly amended Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), promulgated on March 10, 2026 and taking effect on Sept. 11, 2026, now exposes companies to fines of up to 10% of total revenue for serious data breaches. With expanded reporting obligations, new executive accountability requirements, and the implementation deadline fast approaching, the time to act is now. Join us to hear what these landmark changes mean for your business and how to stay ahead of the curve.

Our speaker, Dr. Kyungjin Choi, is a Professor of Law and Dean of the International College at Gachon University and serves as President of the Korea Artificial Intelligence Law Association and Director of the Center for AI, Data, and Policy. A leading voice on AI governance, data protection, and digital privacy regulation, Dr. Choi is regularly called upon to provide expert commentary in major publications and global policy forums. His deep expertise across both Korean law and international policy makes him uniquely positioned to unpack the practical implications of these sweeping PIPA amendments.
