    EVENT DESCRIPTION
    Join us for an insightful discussion on the power of male allyship in advancing women in the workplace. Best-selling author James Rhee (Red Helicopter) will share key lessons from his experience transforming Ashley Stewart, a struggling company, by recognizing and valuing traditionally overlooked workplace strengths—empathy, kindness, and customer connection. The talk will be followed by a panel of industry leaders that will explore how companies in Korea are fostering male allies to create more inclusive and equitable workplaces. Panelists will discuss challenges, best practices, and leadership strategies for empowering women and driving meaningful change based on real-world examples and experiences.

    • [Speaker] James Rhee, Author, Red Helicopter

      James Rhee is a high school teacher and Harvard Law graduate who became a private equity investor and unexpected CEO. He bridges math with emotions by marrying capital with purpose. His transformational leadership has been recognized by the leading business and civic organizations. His national bestselling book, entitled red helicopter―a parable for our times: lead change with kindness (plus a little math), was published in April 2024 in partnership with Harper One, an imprint of HarperCollins that seeks multi-platform ideas that “transform, inspire, change lives, and influence cultural discussions.” In its debut week, the book was the number one non-fiction book across all channels and media, per USA Today. He is working on related film, music, and television projects. His TED Talk and Dare to Lead interview with Brené Brown have captured the imagination of millions.

      Joo-Seuk Maing is the Global Head of Business Segment SENSE of FIT Voltaira, a multinational Automotive supplier with Headquarters in Germany. Joo-Seuk is based in Korea and has obtained his Master of Science from the University of Hohenheim (Stuttgart). He has vast experience in the mobility industry with a focus on Automotive, where he spent 17 years with one of the leading German Automotive suppliers, before joining FIT Voltaira as CEO Korea/Vietnam in 2021. Joo-Seuk Maing has vast experience in Asia Pacific as he has spent the past 15 years living in India, Singapore, Japan and South Korea.
    • [Moderator] Namju Cho, Director of Communications & Marketing, Dulwich College Seoul

      Namju Cho is the Director of Communications and Marketing at Dulwich College Seoul, where she oversees all branding, marketing, and communication activities to support the school’s mission of inspiring global citizens to make a positive difference in the world. Under her leadership, Namju has helped raise Dulwich’s overall visibility and contributed to the school being at full capacity with waitlists throughout most year groups.

      During her 28 years of storytelling experience, Namju has consistently been a trailblazing champion of women's rights and advocate for underserved communities. She was the first Korean national and woman to be named staff reporter at the Wall Street Journal’s Seoul bureau. She advocated for survivors of human trafficking and modern-day slavery, during which time she became the first Korean American woman to serve on the Women’s Health Council under California’s health services agency.
