    EVENT DESCRIPTION
    AMCHAM Energy & Environment Committee will host the President of the Carbon Free Alliance (CF Alliance) to discuss its role in decarbonization and explore potential collaboration opportunities with AMCHAM member companies. The event will include a panel discussion featuring representatives from CF Alliance, Baker Hughes, and GE Vernova. The Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy will be in present to provide relevant policy updates as well.

    • [Moderator] Seong Ik Hwang, Partner, Shin & Kim
      Mr. Seong Ik Hwang is a partner at Shin & Kim. Mr. Hwang's practice focuses on foreign direct investment, environment, mergers & acquisitions, corporate governance and general advice.

      Mr. Hwang is an automotive industry specialist focusing on Korean type approval of emission and noise, Korean self- certification of safety standards, regulatory compliance and permitting of car sharing, autonomous driving and liability, connected car, recently enacted Korean lemon law implementation and arbitration program, and fair trade issues related to vehicle sales and A/S including false representation and advertisements.

      Dr. Hoesung Lee is the President of Carbon Free Alliance and a Special Ambassador for Carbon Free Energy, Republic of Korea. The Caron Free Alliance is an organization launched in October 2023 by the Korean government as a public and private sector platform to promote carbon free energy globally to support climate solution and economic growth.

      Susan was promoted to executive position in May 2021 and as representative director in Korea, she is responsible for developing customer relationships and strategic initiatives to create new opportunities and business models. Susan is based in Pangyo, Korea.
      In her career at Baker Hughes (formerly GE Oil and Gas before divestiture) since 2010, Susan has successfully led various business development opportunities for oil and gas projects in collaboration with major Korean EPC and energy companies.
