Navigating a Changing World: Keys to Success in the U.S. Market Entry

One of AMCHAM’s largest signature annual events held in partnership with the Korea International Trade Association (KITA), the Doing Business in the U.S. Seminar this year will examine the theme, “Navigating a Changing World: Keys to Success in the U.S. Market Entry.” The session will explore topics such as major economic issues in the U.S., the impact of the 2022 U.S. midterm elections on trade policy, success cases, as well as key elements that companies should prepare when expanding into the U.S.

This year’s seminar will include congratulatory remarks from The Honorable Philip Goldberg, U.S. Ambassador to South Korea, as well as a special message from U.S. Senator Rick Scott (R-FL) who chairs the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC). Senator Rick Scott was elected to the U.S. Senate in 2018 and is currently serving his first term representing the state of Florida. Prior to his election to the Senate, Rick Scott served two terms as the 45th Governor of Florida, working to revive Florida’s economy and secure the state’s future as the best place for families and businesses to succeed.

The seminar will be divided into two sessions under the themes “2023 U.S. Business Outlook” and “Corporate Mentoring Session.” It will include a keynote speech on “Major Issues and Economic Outlook for the U.S. Economy” and cover several other topics, including, “U.S. Trade Policy Outlook in 2023: Post Mid-Term Elections - A U.S. Perspective,” “Highlights and Implications of the U.S. Mid-term Election in 2022,” “The Future of Investing in the U.S.,” among others. The afternoon session will address specific tasks with which companies must become familiarized to invest in the U.S., including travel logistics, managing diverse HR policies, strategizing market entry as a subsidiary, and so on.

‘2023 미국 경제·정책 전망 및 시장 진출 세미나(Doing Business in the U.S. Seminar 2022)’ 공동 개최 예정 

2022년 11월 14일 - 주한미국상공회의소(암참; 회장 겸 대표이사 제임스 김)가 오는 11월 18일 금요일 대미 무역 및 투자 진출 관심 기업을 주요 대상으로 하는 ‘2023 미국 경제·정책 전망 및 시장 진출 세미나 (Doing Business in the U.S. Seminar 2022)’를 개최한다.  

암참과 한국무역협회(KITA)가 공동 주최하는 ‘2023 미국 경제·정책 전망 및 시장 진출 세미나(Doing Business in the U.S. Seminar 2022)’는 암참의 시그니처 연례 행사 중 최대 규모로 올해 4회째를 맞는다. 올 해 세미나는 ‘급변하는 세계 정세 속 미국 시장 진출의 성공 노하우’를 주제로 美 진출 성공 사례를 비롯하여 미국 內 주요 경제 현안과 미국 중간선거가 무역 정책에 미치는 영향, 대미투자를 준비하는 기업들이 고려해야 할 핵심 요소 등을 다룰 예정이다.  

올해 세미나에서는 필립 골드버그 주한미국대사의 축사에 이어 특별히 NRSC (전국공화당상원위원회) 의장을 맡고 있는 릭 스콧(플로리다주, 공화당) 美 상원의원의 특별 인사 메시지가 전달될 예정이다. 릭 스콧 상원의원은 2018년 당선된 현직 플로리다 주 연방 상원의원이다. 릭 스콧 상원의원은 상원의원으로 선출되기 전 플로리다의 45대 주지사를 두 번 역임하면서 플로리다의 경제를 회복시키고 가족과 기업이 성공하기 위한 최적의 장소로서 주의 미래를 위해 헌신한 바 있다.  

세미나는 ‘2023 미국 경제·정책 전망’의 첫 번째 세션과 ‘기업 멘토링 세션’의 두 파트로 구성된다. ‘미국 경제 주요 이슈와 경제 전망’을 주제로 하는 기조강연을 시작으로 ‘2023 미국 통상정책 전망’, ‘미국 중간선거의 주요 결과와 향후 전망’, ‘미국 투자 전망’, ‘OCI의 미국 태평양 비즈니스 진출 사례’, ‘2023 미국 투자 트렌드’, ‘미국 내 기업 출장을 위한 항공 편의 제도’, ‘미국에서 사업하기 위한 비자 유형’, ‘한국 기업이 출자하여 미국에 자회사로 진출할 때 주의할 점’ ‘미국 내 HR 전략’ 등을 주제로 하는 발표가 이어질 예정이다.
