Dec 15, 2015 (Seoul) - The American Chamber of Commerce in Korea (AMCHAM Korea) announced today that Mr. John Schuldt has been appointed the new President of AMCHAM Korea, succeeding Ms. Amy Jackson. 

John Schuldt has lived in Seoul for more than 3 years and joins AMCHAM from Ford Motor Company where he most recently served as Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer. In his 30 year career, Mr. Schuldt has held a variety of executive positions in the United States and Asia representing corporate interests in developing mutually beneficial business relationships between customers and distribution channels.

Having worked for a Fortune 10 company, Mr. Schuldt has extensive experience in many aspects of business: sales, marketing, finance, customer relationship management, manufacturing, and purchasing. In Korea, Japan and the South Pacific, he has successfully led teams who communicated strengths of American products to local customers resulting in increased market share and brand awareness while satisfying consumer needs with relevance and cultural customization.

Mr. Schuldt also successfully served as the AMCHAM auto committee co-chairman for 3 years. In addition, he was chairman of the AMCHAM golf committee for the last 2 years. 

AMCHAM Chairman James Kim stated that, “John comes to AMCHAM with a wealth of private sector experience that will serve him well in his new position as he works to advocate for members across sectors. Further, he has a very strong and demonstrated knowledge of and passion for Korea that will clearly help him lead AMCHAM into its next 60 years of successful partnerships in Korea." 

He holds a Master of International Management degree from Thunderbird School of Global Management. He is an avid golfer and squash player. He lives in Seoul with his wife, Robbie, and one daughter; and another daughter attends university in the United States.

Mr. Schuldt will assume his new position on January 7, 2016.
