CODIT Suggests Policies to Boost Global Expansion of Women Enterprises

By Do-min Jang, News1 = On July 1st, Chung Ji-Eun, CEO of CODIT, delivered a keynote address at the "National Assembly Seminar on Going Global for Women Entrepreneurs," representing women entrepreneurs.

During her presentation, CEO Chung highlighted the challenges enterprises face when entering global markets. She proposed strategic policy directions for the government and the National Assembly to consider, emphasizing the importance of collaboration between international corporations and startups.

The event was co-hosted by In-seon Lee, Chair of the Gender Equality and Family Committee from the People Power Party, and Won-i Kim, Vice Chair of the Trade, Industry, Energy, SMEs and Startups Committee from the Democratic Party, along with the Women Enterprise Supporting Center. It saw attendance from National Assembly members, including Sung-min Park, Dal-hee Lee, Jun-tae Park, Eun-seok Choi, Zee-a Han, Wi-sang Kim, and Young-joo Oh, the Minister of SMEs and Startups.

Chung shared the challenges she faced in founding CODIT and entering the Japanese market, drawing on her experience as a policy expert for UNESCO and the OECD. She emphasized the need for:

●           Simplifying regulatory environments

●           Providing regulatory support for international expansion

●           Fostering partnerships with global companies

●           Expanding government reference cases to build credibility.

Additionally, Chung introduced some examples of successful collaborations between global and domestic companies, urging the National Assembly and Government to proactively support initiatives that facilitate connections and networking opportunities with international buyers.

The forum took place to celebrate "Women Entrepreneurs Week," held annually in the first week of July. The session featured presentations by Ji-Eun Chung of CODIT and senior researcher Bo-rye Kim from the Women's Economic Research Institute. Professor Woo-hyoung Kim from Hanyang University moderated the discussions, which included insights from Soo-yeon Yoo, CEO of Nation A, Mi-sun Lee, a research fellow at the Korea Small Business Institute, and Ji-yeon Choi, a research fellow at the Korea Legislation Research Institute. The focus was on strategies to expand the global reach of women entrepreneurs.

CODIT's policy monitoring platform leverages AI and big data technology to analyze policy data from the National Assembly and the government. This platform provides tailored information on laws, regulations, and policies relevant to businesses, assisting them in effective risk management.
