About the Speaker

Ronald Parks, Senior Foreign Attorney, Lee & Ko

Ronald Parks is a senior foreign attorney in the International Tax Group. He is an expert in international tax, transfer pricing, customs and supply chain restructuring. He also has significant experience in the oil and gas industry and emerging markets. Ron has over twenty years’ experience in international taxation & transfer pricing related to various industries ranging from advising on day-to-day cross-border transactions to the structuring of complex overseas investments.

Prior to joining Lee & Ko, Ron worked for a number of Big Four Accounting Firms. He has held various leadership positions including the Head of Transfer Pricing in Deloitte (Kazakhstan), the Head of Tax for Grant Thornton (Vietnam) and the Head of Tax Operations for KPMG Vietnam. He serves as a co-chair of the AMCHAM Trade & Customs Committee.

Jung-hong Kim, Partner & Senior Foreign Attorney, Lee & Ko

Jung-hong Kim is a member of the Tax and Customs Groupat Lee & Ko, specializing in international tax and customs. Prior to joining Lee & Ko in 2021, he has had long public career with the Ministry of Economy and Finance, Supreme Court of Korea and the OECD Korea Tax Center where he was responsible for international tax and customs matters. At Lee & Ko, he advises on domestic tax law, tax treaties, transfer pricing, customs issues related to inbound and outbound transactions and tax defense cases.

Jae Wung Cho, Partner & Attorney, Lee & Ko

Jae Wung Cho is a partner of Lee & Ko’s customs practice group. Drawing from his working experience in Korea Customs Service and Lee & Ko, he provides legal advice and dispute representation to the South Korean offices of multinational entities, or other global clients engaged in customs and trade in South Korea.

Prior to joining Lee & Ko in 2016, he worked as a legal officer of Seoul and Incheon Customs Offices, charged with representing tax tribunal appeals, administrative litigations, legislative review, and an extensive range of other advisory matters pertaining to government practice. He also represents cross-border cases involving Korean customs laws and KCS procedures such as Korea-US on-site FTA verifications.

Robert Scott Smith, Senior Advisor, EY

Robert Smith is a distinguished professional at EY with almost 25 years of audit, global tax, global trade, import/export and indirect tax experience having worked with Authorities and for companies around the world in the US, Asia-Pacific, Latin America and EMEIA regions. His hands on experience with various tax and customs regimes around the world coupled with in-depth knowledge of how companies operate helps him to provide technical and practical advice to his clients.

Rachel Yeaha Hyun, Manager of Global Trade, EY

Rachel advises many multinational companies on various customs issues including customs audits, application of FTA, foreign exchange transactions, customs valuation (transfer pricing) and trade compliance.

Jason W. Lee, Foreign Attorney, Kim & Chang

Jason W. Lee is a foreign attorney in Kim & Chang’s Corporate Practice and International Trade & Customs Practice. Mr. Lee advises multinational enterprises on a wide spectrum of customs and international trade matters, including customs valuation, classification , export control, and Foreign Exchange Transaction Law matters, as well as customs audits, FTA origin verifications, criminal investigations and general compliance matters. Mr. Lee has been involved in a number of landmark trade and customs matters in Korea.
