Oh Jin-yong named new GM of J&J Medical Korea

 

 

 

Lee Han-soo, Korea Biomedical Review​ - Johnson & Johnson Medical Korea said that it has named Oh Jin-yong as its new general manager effective on Jan. 1. Oh will double as J& Medical's North Asian head by managing its branches in Taiwan and Hong Kong, it said.

 

J&J Medical has selected Oh Jin-yong as the new general manager of J&J Medical Korea and the company’s North Asian regional head, including Taiwan and Hong Kong, effective on Jan. 1.

 

New GM Oh, who joined Johnson & Johnson in 2014, has held various positions in it, contributing to the growth of J&J by participating in prominent projects as chief financial officer of Johnson & Johnson Medical in North Asia and senior financial director of the Ethicon business unit in Asia-Pacific region. Most recently, Oh served as a financial leader managing global supply chains from the U.S. headquarters by leading the Ethicon and cardiovascular specialty solutions divisions and successfully implementing supply chain computerization and localization strategies in China. Oh also worked as the finance director of Janssen R&D Operations, where he oversaw more than 500 R&D projects of potential value based on overall financial planning and analysis of new drug development.

 

"I am much honored to become the GM of J&J Medical in North Asia, which has been attracting attention for its continuous growth," Oh said. "Currently, the medical device industry is facing a phase of innovative change that goes beyond existing medical devices such as digital solutions and telemedicine."

 

Oh added that J&J Medical plans to promote mid-to-long-term growth of the company, provide innovative and effective medical devices to patients, continuously support the growth of the Korean medical device industry through projects such as Quickfire Challenge, and contribute to the establishment of an innovative industrial ecosystem.
