TOPIC

“An Overview of Commercial and Economic Services of U.S. Embassy” ?

Dear AMCHAM Members,

Greetings from the AMCHAM Government & International Affairs Committee.

As many of you are aware, the Government & International Committee is in the process of providing opportunities for AMCHAM members to meet with the new senior staff of the US embassy and exchange information on how to work together between the US government and American business community in Korea.  In late October, we had the first very successful meeting with Mr. Roberto Powers, the new head of the embassy’s Consular section.

On Dec. 1, we will hold the second meeting of this kind with Ms. Joy Yamamoto, the new Minister-Counselor for Economic Affairs, and Mr. David Gossack, the Minister-Counselor for Commercial Affairs, as our guest speakers.  They will provide an overview of commercial and economic services offered by the embassy and have Q&A session.  As many of your business may have challenging issues, ranging from customs and tax to other regulatory issues, this will be a great opportunity to learn about the role of the embassy’s commercial and economic section and how you may seek the embassy’s support.

We look forward to seeing many of you at this meeting on Dec. 1, Tuesday.
