Dear AMCHAM members,

Please join in the AMCHAM Chemical Committee at this luncheon meeting to learn about biocide regulations in EU and Korea. The first speaker, Mr. Ian Watt is an expert in biocides and Agchem area, and has been involved in European regulatory affairs on biocides since the early days of the Biocidal Products Directive in 2000. He will provide an introductory information on EU BPR system and this will also be an good opportunity for us to hear about his experience in the discussions between industry and authorities before and after implementation of EU BPR. The second speaker, Ms. Yujeong Kim, is the Deputy Director of Ministry of Environment who is responsible for Korea Biocide Act. She will give a presentation on key features of Korea biocide regulations that the mother law was pre-announced and its enforcement regulations would subsequently be legislated. This should be useful opportunity for learning Korea government’s directions on the upcoming regulations and for sharing industry (potential) concerns to the government in charge.
